Who We Are

Tech Your Way is a nonprofit digital discovery hub dedicated to helping youth build AI awareness, digital literacy, and confidence in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world. We focus on early exposure—giving young people— especially those in under-resourced communities accessible ways to understand how digital systems and AI shape learning, opportunity, and everyday life.

The Problem We Address

Technology is rapidly reshaping how we learn, work, and communicate—but young people are not automatically prepared to navigate it. Globally, 65% of teens lack the digital skills needed for 90% of today’s jobs, and 90% of jobs by 2030 will require digital literacy, underscoring a widening skills gap that threatens youth opportunity if left unaddressed.
Early exposure to digital literacy and AI concepts helps demystify technology, spark curiosity, and build critical thinking—so youth are prepared not just to adapt to change, but to become innovators of our future.

How We Build Digital & AI Skills for the Future

What we Do

Our leadership

The Founder

Tech Your Way was founded by Sherrell Butler, an IT Professional who understands firsthand what it means to grow up with limited access, guidance, or a clear roadmap into opportunity. Raised in an under-resourced community in Detroit, she navigated education and early career decisions without role models or visibility into technology-related careers.
After working in roles such as customer support and real estate, Sherrell transitioned into the tech industry by leveraging transferable skills—building a successful career in business and digital transformations. Through this work, she gained insight into how broad, creative, and adaptable technology pathways can be when information and access are made clear.
This experience highlighted how much untapped potential exists among youth—and how many are forced to navigate longer, more difficult paths simply due to lack of early exposure. Tech Your Way was created to bridge that gap—by demystifying technology, sharing knowledge openly, and helping youth explore opportunities earlier with clarity, confidence, and purpose rather than guesswork.
